Firehouse Birthday Party Requests

Make Your Child’s Big Day Spark with Fun & Fire Safety

Celebrate Your Big Day at the Firehouse!

There’s nothing quite like celebrating a birthday at Abingdon Fire Company! We’re honored you’re considering us for your child’s big day — and we’re excited to help make it fun, educational, and unforgettable.

Once you submit your request, an AFC representative will reach out within 72 hours to confirm we’ve received your form. Please note that all requests must be made at least 30 days in advance of your desired party date.

What to Expect

Our team works hard to make each visit engaging and memorable. Parties typically include:

  • A warm welcome from your host, who will guide your group and keep the schedule moving smoothly.
  • An interactive fire prevention presentation, which may include:
    • Home fire safety tips
    • “Stop, Drop, Cover Your Face, and Roll”
    • Smoke detector basics
    • Exit Drills In The Home (EDITH)
    • A close-up look at a firefighter’s gear
    • A tour of the firehouse
  • Climbing aboard a fire engine, when available. (Please note: rides are not offered.)
  • Fire helmets for all children to take home.

Adults are encouraged to join their children during the presentation — it’s fun for everyone!

Your party may be held in the engine bay or the fire hall. When needed, a firefighter or fire prevention representative will escort children between spaces. Tables and chairs are provided for children; chairs will be available for adults. A dedicated food table will also be set up for your use.

Helpful Tips for a Smooth Party

A few notes to help you plan your celebration:

  • Please arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time for setup.
  • Let us know your final guest count no later than 5 days before the party.
  • The party room is available only for your scheduled time.
  • Don’t forget to bring your birthday cake and any refreshments.
  • You are welcome to bring themed plates, napkins, decorations, etc. (Please note: piñatas are not allowed.)

Suggested Donation

We kindly ask for a minimum donation of $100 to support Abingdon Fire Company.
If more than 15 children will be attending, please consider increasing your donation. Your contribution helps offset the cost of hosting your event and supports our mission to serve the community.
